Meet the Founder
Gerry Kavanaugh
President and Chief Executive Officer
Gerry Kavanaugh has been intimately involved in local, state, and national policy over his entire 30 year professional career.
Gerry served as Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s Economic Policy Advisor, where he worked on the Senator’s Health, Education and Labor Committee, on a variety of issues affecting working families. Gerry was Senator Kennedy’s Chief of Staff in the late 1990’s, supervising a professional staff of 100, overseeing all of the Senator’s policy matters, and running the Senator’s Washington, D.C. office. In these roles, Gerry helped guide Kennedy to re-election in 1994 and 2000.
Gerry is the founder and CEO of two Internet communications and software companies that provide Internet and technology services to members of Congress, political candidates, non-profit organizations, and corporations across the country. Since the first company’s 2003 start-up, these ventures have seen substantial year over year growth.
Prior to the 2004 presidential race, Gerry served as the Policy Director for the Democratic National Committee, providing counsel to Democratic candidates and parties across the country. In 2003 and 2004, Gerry worked as a senior advisor to the John Edwards for President campaign.
Before his involvement in national politics, Gerry worked in city government for over 15 years. He worked as a city planner for the City of Keene, NH, and for the cities of Quincy and Salem in Massachusetts. He also served as the Chief of Staff for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the largest redevelopment authority in the country. In these roles, Gerry was very involved in the community and economic development projects.
Gerry recently founded SouthCoast Connected, a non-profit organization that develops and sustains education programs to address the high drop-out rate in cities along the South Coast of Massachusetts. More than 250 kids participate in various after-school tutoring and mentoring activities.
Gerry has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lafayette College, and a Master of Arts Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently resides in New Bedford, Massachusetts with his wife Colleen.
